ImageUVF.info has been established to bring into a public forum as much information as possible about the Ulster Volunteer Force of 1912-1916 that was raised to resist Home Rule in Ireland. Given the sensitive nature of the subject matter (an unfair modern ‘politicisation’ of history) many people are ignorant of the fact that this was not some mickey-mouse militia. The Ulster Volunteer force that was raised in 1912 and formally constituted in 1913 was a fully fledged army. This army was over 100’000 strong. The headquarters staff and commanders across its 14 ‘County’s’  consisted of some of the most well respected and experienced figures in the British Army. It had its own Artillery and mounted regiments. Its Medical, Nursing, Signalling & Dispatch Corps and Motor Car Corps was in its day more advanced and well organised than much of what the British Army, and its contemporary’s, had to offer. This is a part of Irish history, indeed British Military History, that has been hidden away and needs to be told. Information will be added daily in the form of duplication of original records/ documentation, photographs of memorabilia, press cuttings etc… Submissions are welcome.
